1951
Ashburn Baptist Church holds it’s first service at the Owen Elementary School in the Ashburn neighborhood, led by a young Pastor Vernon Lyons.
1952
The first church building is constructed in 1952 and would serve the congregation for the next seven years.
1960
The new building is constructed on the east side of 83rd St.
1968
The education wing is built at the 83rd St location.
1970's - 1980's
The 70’s and 80’s were blessed years with tremendous growth with many finding new life in Jesus.
1987
Property is bought in Orland Park, and the second location is launched.
1993
The Orland Park campus expands with the construction of the second auditorium along with expanded space for classrooms.
2019
Ashburn votes and calls Dr. Tommy Thompson to become the second Lead Pastor in the history of the church.
2019
Ashburn plants the first Arabic language SBC church in Chicagoland.
2020
The Chicago location is replanted with a renewed vision to reach the city of Chicago.
2023
Ashburn launches its Frankfort location to reach the southeast suburbs.
2024
Ashburn launches Ashburn Christian Academy to partner with parents to provide a high-quality academic education that develops students who will follow Christ, embrace biblical truth, and live lives that glorify God.
2025
Ashburn launches a new campus in Crystal Lake to reach the Northwest suburbs.
2026
On Easter 2026, Ashburn will open a new location in Willow Springs to serve Hispanic communities.
Ashburn exists to help people find new life in Jesus.
